This new 12th anniversary edition contains the full spectrum from Count Zeppelin’s original war designs, to the American “flying flattops” of the 1930’s carrying biplanes on “trapezes”. Various Operation Orange variants against Japan are recreated, cumulating in the Airships attempting to stop Pearl Harbor. The game layout is based upon ballast sheets originally used by Zeppelin commanders.

The one thing that "Down in Flames" series players are always looking for is additional aircraft for their favorite game series. So we have decided to satisfy that desire with our first "C3i-DiF Squadron" aircraft pack. This pack will consist of 64 fighter aircraft cards, printed in the eight-per-sheet (cut 'em out yourself) style of C3i-DiF module inserts that you've enjoyed over the years. Most of the aircraft cards will be NEW aircraft types, although we have included a few reprints (with corrected ratings) of aircraft that have appeared previously in one or more of the DiF Series games.

Following on the heels of the first Squadron Pack for the Down in Flames series of WWII air combat card games comes Squadron Pack 2: Bombers. While the first pack contained new fighters, this one adds more Light Bombers and Formation aircraft to the system.

The pack will include such famous aircraft as the B-25H (complete with 75mm gun) and the Il-2m3 Shturmovik. But there will be lesser-known planes as well, like the German Hs-129B-1/R2 (a sort of WWII version of today's A-10) and the Italian CANT Z.501 Gabbiano flying boat. All the cards will be printed in the eight-per-sheet (cut 'em out yourself) style of C3i-DiF module inserts that you've enjoyed over the years.

One of the difficulties in creating a pack of bombers and patrol planes is that up until now these aircraft types have only been used in the context of a Down in Flames campaign. The rules included in the pack provide three ways around this problem. First, there are guidelines for adding Formation aircraft to basic game dogfights. Second, the pack includes a number of stand-alone generic missions into which players can simply "plug in" appropriate aircraft. Finally, we have included rules (courtesy of Roger Horky) that allow Formation aircraft to engage in a form of dogfighting (called Gunnery Duels in the game) with other Formation planes. So if you've ever wanted to fly a Short Stirling against an FW-200 Condor, now's your chance.

Squadron Pack 2's rules also contain reprints of some of the rules from Corsairs and Hellcats for the benefit of those players who don't own that game (you know who you are). In addition, there are rules for two new ground attack weapons: the German Hs 293 radio-controlled air to surface missile and Fritz X radio-controlled glide bomb.

Like the first pack, Squadron Pack 2: Bombers will contain 64 new aircraft cards printed 8 to a sheet in the same enhanced graphic style as Squadron Pack 1. The pack will also include a short (4-8 page) rulebook and an 11x17 wrap around cover decorated with Rodger MacGowan's gorgeous artwork. The inside of the cover sheet will form a play mat for use during Gunnery Duels.

Downtown depicts the great air battles that spun out across the skies above "Downtown" Hanoi during the Vietnam War. The game covers the gamut of operations in the deadly Route Package 6 strike zone, from the gradualist Rolling Thunder campaign of 1965-1968, to the hammer-blows of the 1972 Linebacker operations, culminating with the "Christmas B-52 bombing" campaign that brought the Vietnam War to a conclusion.

Downtown recreates the entire air raids in detail. The U.S. player is the raid commander, marshalling packages of 30-70+ Air Force or Navy aircraft, comprising bombers, fighters, defense suppression, jamming, and recon planes. The North Vietnamese (DRV) player manages a network of AAA and SAM anti-aircraft defenses supported by a "thin red line" of MiG fighters.

As the head of the British Bomber Command, you plan the attacks on Germany in order to undermine the morale of the civilian population. Or as a General of the German Air Force (Luftwaffe), you defend using your ace squadrons and organizing an effective civil defense.

Gameplay allows for easy entry into the action with some advanced rules for the hearty wargamer. The game rules include weather conditions, full moon/new moon bonuses and penalties, clouds and thunderclouds, fog, flak, searchlights, balloon barriers, target markers, and much more.

The British player secretly plots the course of the bomber while the Mosquito acts as escort or decoy. The German player tries to figure out where the bomber is going, making sure to efficiently use the fuel to get as many hits on the bomber as possible.

This contains every released expansion from the JU88 Nightfighter to the 3-5 player Variant, for Duel in the Dark.

This game opens up the skies of WWI for a new flying adventure. Fans of the WWII Down in Flames games will quickly learn the new rules and enjoy the new decisions and options offered by the new game. New fans will be up and flying within 15 minutes of reading the rules.

Players customize every mission by selecting the leader and number of wingmen they lead into combat. The WWI aircraft feature a new level of detail with traits that give bonuses and penalties for climbing, diving, turning, and structure. All the famous aircraft are included: Nieuport 17, SPAD XIII, Sopwith Camel, Albatros DIII, Fokker Dr. I, and Fokker DVII. Action cards such as the Chandelle, Stall Turn, and Side Slip re-create the feel of WWI dog-fighting. Game supports two or more players.

Luftwaffe is an update of the classic Avalon Hill game covering the US strategic bombing campaign over Europe in World War II. As the US commander, your mission is to eliminate key German industrial complexes. You select the targets, direct the bombers, and plan a strategy intended to keep the Luftwaffe off-balance. As the German commander, the entire arsenal of German aircraft is at your disposal against the finest in Allied designs. Turns are quarterly, with German reinforcements keyed to that player's production choices. Units are wings and squadrons, and they're rated by type, sub-type, firepower, maneuverability and endurance. There are rules for radar, electronic warfare, variable production strategies, aces, target complexes, critical industries and diversion of forces to support the ground war. Beyond that, the original, classic game system remains essentially sound and hasn't otherwise been changed much. Most of the upgrade was in adding in additional rules, revising the order of battle, and adding more deployment and industrial options.

Containing 110 scenarios (that's one hundred ten, folks) ranging from flight training (3), introductory air combat (5), air-to air combat (58), air-to-ground (4), air-naval (32), and mission level (8), it features 40 distinctive aircraft and numerous ship types. The only facet of the war in the Pacific missing from this game is ground support.
