“Far, far away...” Let every roll of Rory’s StoryCubes: Voyages inspire tales of epic adventure. This visual story generator offers non-competitive play for one or more players. Can be played alone or combined with other sets of Rory's Story Cubes®.
How to play:
Roll all 9 Cubes. Begin with ‘Once Upon a Time’ (or ‘Far, Far Away’) and tell a story that links together all 9 face-up images. Start with the first symbol to grab your attention. There is no wrong answer, the goal is to let the images spark your imagination.
You can do it! Your brain thinks in pictures and will find ways to connect the images. The more you play, the easier it will be to tell longer, more developed stories. You can play by yourself or take turns in a group, with each person telling a story using all 9 cubes.
Suggestions for using more than one set of Rory's Story Cubes® The Trilogy (Suitable for 3 players): Can you work together to create an epic tale? Roll all 27 cubes and agree a theme for the story. Each player uses 9 cubes to tell their part of the trilogy. The third player has to end the tale, tying up any loose ends. If you have 2 sets, use 6 cubes for each part of the trilogy.
Story within a story: Roll 9, 18 or 27 cubes. Each player takes a turn, using 3 cubes at a time, to tell their part of the bigger story.
Use your imagination. Around the world, people are inventing their own ways to use Rory’s Story Cubes.
