Meridian Board Game
At the beginning of the 18th century, Queen Wu Wei decided that it was prudent, since it could not be avoided, to let some of the powerful European commercial companies establish enclaves on the islands of the Southern Archipelago. In order to restrain their well-known avarice, she had them agree to a number of unusual rules and conditions. The most unusual rule divided the archipelago into imaginary north-south (vertical) strips, which she called "meridians". The "meridian" rule limited each company to just one enclave in each meridian. In this game, each player represents one the powerful commercial companies and the rules of the game are very similar to those that were devised by the legendary Queen Wu Wei. Players try to build their cities so they can control the most islands in the archipelago. Taller cities must be build to the north and the shorter cities to the south. There are different maps for three and four players and lots of choices for the strategist.
