In the cold depths of space untold numbers of xenos creatures intend on devouring the worlds of Man have started moving. They make ready to invade the Imperium. The Tyranid Battleforce is a great starting point for a Tyranid army or can be used to increase the size of a Hive Fleet you have already collected. This force contains 3 Warriors, 8 Genestealers, 8 Hormogaunts, 8 Gaunts and a massive Carnifex.

The Biovore nurtures a clutch of Spore Mines inside its own body and launches them by a powerful muscle spasm. Each Spore Mine bio-engineered as a specific piece of ammo. Each blister contains a single Biovore and 3 Spore Mines.

The Broodlord is an alternative to HQ choice and is perfect for leading hordes of smaller Tyranids. This blister contains a single Tyranid Broodlord model.

The Carnifex is a living engine of destruction evolved for use in shock assaults, spaceship boarding actions and massed battles where it can smash through almost any obstacle, whether it is a defensive line or enemy tank. A Carnifex takes up a single Heavy Support choice, certain types of Carnifex can be taken as Elite choices. The Box set contains enough sprues to build a single Carnifex with various, head, upgrade and weapon options.

Gargoyles are vicious winged monsters that are often the first parts of Tyranid swarms seen in battle. Their prime purpose seems to be seeking out the enemy and sowing terror and confusion amongst them. A squad consists of between 8 and 32 Gargoyles. Each blister contains 2 Gargoyles.

There are two main species of Gaunts, the Termagants who are equiped with ranged weapons and the Hormagaunts who are bio-engineered for close combat. A squad consists of between 8 and 32 Tyranid Gaunts. Each Box set contains 16 Tyranid Gaunt models, 8 can be assembled as Termagants and 8 as Hormagaunts there are also enough parts to build a Ripper swarm base.

Genestealers are legendarily ferocious close combat opponents, with lightning fast reflexes and deadly claws, capable of ripping trough adamantium. They have their own brood telepathy enabling them to function outside the range of the hive mind. A squad consists of between 6 and 12 Genestealers. Each Box set contains 8 Genestealer models with various optional components.

The Hive Tyrant is a large and massively powerful Tyranid creature, the closest thing to a leader of a battlefield swarm yet seen. All Hive Tyrants are highly psychic, and their relationship to the hive mind is closer even than that of Tyranid Warriors. A Hive Tyrant takes up one HQ choice. The Box set contains a single Tyranid Hive tyrant with Venom cannon and Barbed Strangler weapon options and various alternative components.

Raveners are twisted, snake-like creatures which combine the worst elements of the Tyranid Warriors' powerful symbiote weapons with the speed of Gargoyles and Hormagaunts. Raveners are capable of overrunning positions before the enemy can fire more than a single volley. Each blister contains a single Ravener model.

Tyranid Warriors are amongst the most important Tyranids on the battlefield. Not only are they large and powerful fighters but they also fulfil a pivotal role, acting as psychic resonators, amplifying the psychic bond with the hive mind. A squad consists of between 3 and 9 Tyranid Warriors. Each Box set contains 3 Tyranid warriors with weapon options and enough parts to build a Ripper swarm base.

Zoanthropes are perhaps the strangest of Tyranid creatures. They are powerful psykers that form living conduits for the focussed power of the hive mind. They drift across the battlefield to rain bolts of psychic power on the enemy. You may include between 1 and 3 Zoanthropes as a single Heavy Support choice. Each blister contains a single Zoanthrope.
