AYE, Dark Overlord

Tell lies! Shift the blame! Save yourself from the Anger of the Evil Genius!

Aye, Dark Overlord! Is a party game with a fantasy setting and a humorous and easy-going tone. To play, you only need a bit of improvisation skill, some friends and a desire to have a lot of fun.

The game is simple to learn and easy to play: the evil and wicked Servants of Rigor Mortis, true and only Evil Genius, come back after their umpteenth failed mission and have to justify themselves in front of their Master, inventing stories and unlikely excuses and generally laying the blame as much as possibile on their fellow sufferers.

Timeo Iram Genii Malis! (Fear the Wrath of Evil Genius!) Together with your friends, you are once again back in dreaded Tower of Dark Sorcery, after the failed mission. His Excellence, the Lord of the Lost lands, will certainly not be happy! You will be so frightened you cannot breathe. Your forehead starts sweating. Panic wraps you in its freezing grip, what do you do to save your poor skin? Could you say you are not the one to blame, but your inept companions?

Yes, of course! Here’s the solution! There’s only one little problem: they’ve probably got exactly the same idea…

In the era of prohibition, ruthless men held the city of Chicago in an iron grip. They were engaged in anything from prostitution, rum running, bootlegging, tax evasion, theft, fencing, and extortion to downright murder. No scheme was too low and no act too vile if it meant an extra buck in the pockets of these evil, cunning men.

After 3 years in the making Tusbas proudly presents King of Chicago – an action-packed board game for 3-6 players that like spending an evening in the shoes of a gangster boss and talking trash, manipulating and beating some good friends. Playing time is from 1 to 3 hours.

Monastery Board Game

Monastery is a tile laying game in which players construct different parts of a medieval monastery. The work is done by the monks of a player. The monks may move from tile to tile and in addition to building work they can also study, toil or pray. In the ‘icon’ game monks can also make use of the special properties of some of the tiles.

The tiles vary in value ranging from 1 point field and path tiles to 5 point Chapter House and Library. The higher the value of tile the more monks are needed to build it. Players can build independently, but often they are required to work collaboratively.

The game spreads over two days of monastic life, with turns being allocated as time for study and toil or for services in the abbey. At each service a new abbot is elected and apart from going first in the turn the abbot also has some significant powers.

In order to win the game players must collect the letters of the abbey’s motto ‘Libera Nos Quaesumus Ab Omnibus Malis Amen’. The letters become progressively more expensive and players must decide whether to buy letters or recruit extra monks.

Points at game end are also awarded for the ‘blessings’ which players can collect throughout the game.

Red Russia, The Russian Civil War 1918 - 1921

Between 1918 and 1921, violent upheavals wracked the former Russian Empire. Communism, monarchism, nationalism, anarchism and many other -isms vied for control of the Tsar’s domains. When the war finally ended, the “Red” faction emerged victorious, but it was a hollow victory. Economic output had fallen by 96 percent compared to 1913’s figures, agriculture was down by 63 percent, and $35 billion worth of damage had been done. Millions had died; to this day no one is exactly sure how many.

The Konarmiya, or Red Cavalry Army, was one of the most effective formations in the Russian Civil War.

In Red Russia, designer William “Defiant Russia” Sariego takes the popular game system from Soldier Kings to this decisive moment in history. Players represent from two to five factions: the Reds (Communists), Allied Interventionists, Siberian Whites (monarchists), Southern Whites or Northern Whites. The game is played in turns representing a season of the year (three months). It begins with the summer turn of 1918, and ends with the conclusion of the spring 1921 turn. A full game without an Automatic Victory is thus 12 turns long.

Players command infantry and cavalry armies, and for some factions fleets and aircraft. The Allied Interventionists also have a tank unit. Leaders assist these units in movement and combat, ranging in quality from Wrangel of the Whites and Trotsky of the Reds on down to the hapless Sergei Kamenev of the Reds.

RSS South Mountain

On September 14th, 1862, the rebel division of D.H. Hill was surprised and attacked by Ambrose Burnside's Wing of the Army of the Potomac. Hill's men held out all day against a rising tide of Federal troops from both the 1st and 9th Corps and were saved only by the late arrival of D.R. Jones and Hood's divisions. Despite the fact that it was a rather sharp defeat for the rebels, Hill remained justifiably proud of the fight his men managed for 12 long hours atop South Mountain. They had given Lee the time he needed to concentrate his army in the face of a suddenly aggressive Federal force.

South Mountain is the fourth game in the Civil War, Regimental Series. With one map and a manageable number of counters, it is the first game in the series to offer a full, intense, battle that is playable in an evening. And re-playability is very high, given the variable arrival of some key Rebel forces and the application of Confederate and Union Random Events.

South Mountain Contents:

  • 1 22"x32" mapsheet

Tinners Trail Board Game WFRTINNERS: Tinners Trail Board Game is Out of Stock

The first release in the Treefrog Line. Tinners' Trail is set in nineteenth century Cornwall. You play the part of a mining venturer attempting to make the most money from mining tin and copper.

The map starts with tin, copper, and water cubes placed on it. Special dice are used to determine how many of each start in each area. You have ten time points to spend on actions. The most important action is building a mine. However, you can only suggest an area for a mine to be built in. The player who bids the most in an auction gains the right to build there. The cost to mine ore depends on the amount of water in the area. You can remove water by building ports, improving steam pumps, and building trains. You can also build underground drainage tunnels, called adits. When you build an adit you will also discover new lodes of tin and copper. Additional miners can be employed to improve the capacity of your mine, (how much ore you can take out in a single action). If you are short of money you can also sell pasties.

The price for tin and copper is set randomly at the beginning of each turn. It can vary a lot and you really want to sell when the prices are high. However, you cannot hold ore back, you must sell everything you mine.

Once you have sold your ore you decide how much money you wish to invest outside of Cornwall. This is how you convert money to victory points. The earlier you invest the better the return.

    Wizards Gambit Card Game

One thousand years have passed since The Fallen retreated from Hyrathia during the final days of the War of Legends. From where they came and to where they fled no one knows, and ‘why?’ remains the greatest mystery. It has been many years since the Convocation of Wizards convened; the petty wars of the kingdoms not warranting the interference of the wizard council. Many years since greater peace ended the need for a war mage – a Grand Siege Magus – to lead the wizards of Hyrathia into battle.

But now the ancient enemy has returned, bringing war back to all of the kingdoms. Wizards from across the land have been summoned to the Convocation, held at High Emerath, stronghold of the mages. There they gather to take part in an ancient rite, known as the Gambit, where the victor becomes the next war mage. Only those wizards with the highest skill in Spells, Incantations, and knowledge of the rare Magical Components can hope to claim the honor of being the war mage. Only one can win the title of Grand Siege Magus!
