This set is great for Imperial Guard Commanders who are planning to start or add extra models to an Imperial Guard army. The battleforce contains: 20 Cadian Shock Troops, 3 Cadian Heavy Weapon teams, 1 Imperial Guard Leman Russ Battle Tank and a set of Gothic Ruins.

The armies of the Imperial Guard are led by a Senior Officer, supported by his Command squad. Each Command HQ may be expanded by including advisors like Commissars and Priests. This set contains a Cadian Colonel, Vox Caster model, Regimental Standard bearer, 1 trooper armed with a meltagun, a Medic and a casualty model.

Lieutenants, or Junior Officers are in command of an Infantry Platoon. The Lieutenant is accompanied into battle by his attendant staff. Each platoon consists of between 2 and 5 squads. This blister contains 2 random Cadian Lieutenant models.

Weapons like meltaguns enable an Imperial Guard squad to confront more heavily armoured foes while still retaining their mobility. A single model in an Infantry squad may be given a Special Weapon. These weapons are also known as assault weapons. Some squads like Veterans and Command squads may have more models armed in this manner. This blister contains 1 Cadian armed with a Plasma gun and 1 armed with a meltagun.

Heavy Weapon Teams are either grouped together to create support squads that provide cover for the advancing troops or are part of normal Imperial Guard squads. This set enables you to build a single Imperial Guard Catachan Heavy Weapon Team. The team of two Jungle Fighters can be equipped with any one of the following weapons: Lascannon, Heavy Bolter, Missile Launcher, Auto Cannon or Mortar.

Heavy Weapon Teams are either part of normal Imperial Guard squads or they can be grouped together to create support squads that provide cover for the advancing troops. This set enables you to build up to 3 Imperial Guard Catachan Heavy Weapon Teams. Each team of two Jungle Fighters can be equipped with any one of the following weapons: Lascannon, Heavy Bolter, Missile Launcher, Auto Cannon or Mortar. It is possible to give all teams the same heavy weapon to build a Support squad.

The Baneblade is one of the most powerful war machines in the galaxy. In one round of shooting alone it can bring to bear the mighty banablade cannon, two lascannons, a demolisher cannon, and three twin-linked heavy bolters. The open-topped design of the Basilisk allows the vehicle's Earthshaker Cannon to be elevated to a steep enough angle for it to fire indirectly at targets that the crew don't have a line of sight to. It allows the Basilisk to deploy out of harm's way where the enemy cannot see it. The box contains a single Basilisk model.

A normal Imperial Guard platoon does not include any mechanised troops. Because of this it is common to attach an Armoured Fist squad to provide some fast-moving troops. Some Inquisitors make use of Chimera tanks and the Armageddon Steel Legion has all its squads equipped with Chimeras. This box contains a single Chimera tank.

Sentinels are often used as scouts to range ahead of the main army. Their light armament and light armour means they have to stay clear of enemy concentrations but can quickly take out any enemy troops that are left alone. The box contains a single model armed with a multi-laser.

Sniper rifles are perfect for taking out high toughness creatures that your lasgun armed troops would struggle with. Up to 3 models in a Special Weapon Support Squad may upgrade their lasgun to a sniper rifle. Certain Doctrines from the Codex also allow infantry models to replace their weapon with a sniper rifle. The blister contains 2 Imperial Guard models armed with sniper rifles.

Rigid adherents to the Imperial Creed, Commisars are ruthless, fearless individuals whose dedication to the service of the Emperor overrides any compassion or mercy for the men they must sometimes lead in battle. This blister contains 1 Imperial Commisar.

The Kasrkin are the elite of the Cadian military. They are utterly dedicated to the preservation of Cadia. A Kasrkin squad consists of 1 Sergeant and between 4 and 9 Kasrkin. These models can also be used as Storm Troopers in an Imperial Guard army. The box set contains 10 Kasrkin troopers, including 1 Sergeant, 1 flamer and 1 Grenade launcher.

The Leman Russ Battle Tank is the most commonly found tank in Imperial Guard regiments. It is a simple design and one that has stood the test of time better than most. The tank is armed with a turret mounted battle cannonn and can be equipped with either anti tank or anti infantry secondary weapons. The box set contains a single Leman Russ tank with various weapon options.

The huge strength and incredible toughness of an Ogryn means that they have a natural aptitude for combat. A squad of Ogryns will smash its way trough the enemy often using their guns as clubs. This blister contains 1 random model.

The huge strength and durability of Ogryns makes them perfect soldiers for the Imperial Guard. They require almost no training, although can only make use of the simplest of weapons. A select few may even have a glimmer of initiative which makes them prime canditates for augmetic surgery to boost their brain-power to the point where they can become an Ogryn Sergeant or Bone 'ead.
