The Elves of Ravenwood bring new units, command cards and abilities to Battleground players, opening up a range of new design and play possibilities.

The Elves of Ravenwood bring many traditional infantry and archer units to battle, but they are also joined by fantastic forest allies. Spearmen and Bowmasters fight alongside Treants, Centaur cavalry and packs of wolves, among others. The elves are also able to invoke forest spirits to guide their weapons, enabling them to hit almost any foe.

The 2.0 rules streamline some movement and routing issues and expand upon the "stay with the line" standing order, which is now an official part of the advanced rules rather than optional. As General of a Hawk army, you have a broad range of infantry troops at your disposal, ranging from inexpensive (but highly unreliable) peasant mobs to foot knights with sword and shield or two-handed greatswords. Your pikemen are particularly skilled at fighting enemy cavalry and large monsters and your longbowmen are without peer as ranged attackers. You also have the widest range of cavalry units, from lightning-fast scouts to knights in plate mail astride barded warhorses.

Orcs are vicious and aggressive and everything about the Orc army reflects this, from your units to your command cards to your special ability. As general of the Orc army you will keep your enemies constantly on the defensive and no faction is better at turning a break in the enemy line into victory. Skillful (but often cowardly) goblins round out your basic forces and mighty regenerating trolls are an almost unstoppable force.

As the leader of the orcish horde you can Lash your troops. For one command action, Lashing a unit increases its movement class by one and gives it an extra attack die for the turn. When battle lines turn into rough melee, this ability will let you take quick advantage of broken formations or routing enemy units, sending your troops in quickly to flank or pinch the enemy.

The Battleground Scenario Book contains eight exciting battle scenarios for Battleground Fantasy Warfare, the award-winning tabletop wargame in which cards, rather than painted models, represent your forces. Each scenario includes a story introduction, army lists, setup explanation and diagram, plus victory conditions and special rules. The entire rulebook is printed in four colors with lots of art.

First Contact, the book's final scenario, includes cut-out versions of the cards needed to play, making it possible for a new player to try Battleground out using just the scenario book (after downloading rules from the website).

Battleground: Fantasy Warfare Terrain Pack is a new support product to enhance that already great game play with art by David Lloyd! This terrain pack is printed on laminated cardstock to give you terrain that combines beauty and durability. You can write on the terrain with wet- or dry-erase marker and then wipe clean at end of play. Although designed for use with Battleground: Fantasy Warfare, this pack can be used with most tabletop wargames or to set the scene in RPGs.

This pack contains 2 sheets of 15 square feet of terrain. Cut on the dies marked with the red dot only. Figures are double sided and not symmetrical. Use care when cutting.
