Abalone is a two-player strategy game. Each player starts with fourteen black or white marbles on a hexagonal board and they must attempt to push six of their opponent’s marbles off the board and out of play. Players can move up to three marbles at any one time--horizontally, vertically, diagonally, forwards or backwards across the board. The attacking player can only push an opponent’s marble when he/she has a greater number of marbles in a row than that of his/her opponent. Therefore, three marbles can push two, three can push one, or two can push one but not vice versa! Hours of challenging gameplay are guaranteed!

DVONN is a stacking game. It is played on an elongated hexagonal board, with 23 white, 23 black and 3 red DVONN-pieces. In the beginning the board is empty. The players first place the DVONN-pieces on the board and next their own pieces. Then they start stacking pieces on top of each other. A single piece may be moved 1 space in any direction, a stack of two pieces may be moved two spaces, etc. A stack must always be moved as a whole and a move must always end on top of another piece or stack. If pieces or stacks lose contact with the DVONN pieces, they must be removed from the board. The game ends when no more moves can be made. The players put the stacks they control on top of each other and the one with the highest stack is the winner. That's all…

Just like GIPF, DVONN picks up the tradition again of just a board with pieces on it. No fuzz; the game in itself is tricky enough. The higher a stack, the more valuable it is, but the less mobile it is, too. With that in mind: watch out for the red DVONN-pieces: they may be moved! The outcome of a game of DVONN can completely change right up to the very last move.

GIPF is a strategic game for two players based on a classic concept: in turns, players introduce one piece into play until achieving four-in-a-row. Players then remove their row and capture any of their opponent's pieces which extend that row. This principle of capturing pieces creates each time again completely changes situations on the board. The purpose is to form successive rows of at least 4 pieces, until the opponent has no piece left to bring into play or (in the standard and tournament version) when he has no more GIPF-pieces on the board.

The Mosquito pieces can be added to a standard Hive set before the start of the game giving each player 12 pieces to play with.

During the game, they are placed in the same way as the other pieces. Once in play, the Mosquito takes on the movement characteristics of any creature it touches at the time, thus changing its characteristics throughout the game.

Exception: If moved as a Beetle on top of the Hive, it continues to move as a Beetle until it climbs down from the Hive.

It's the game that combines lasers with classic strategy. Players alternate turns moving Egyptian-themed pieces having two, one or no mirrored surfaces. All four types of pieces (pharaoh, obelisk, pyramid and djed column) can either move one square forward, back, left, right, or diagonal, or can stay in the same square and rotate by a quarter twist. Each turn ends by firing one of the lasers built into the board. The laser beam bounces from mirror to mirror; if the beam strikes a non-mirrored surface on any piece, it is immediately removed from play. The ultimate goal is to illuminate your opponent's pharaoh, while shielding yours from harm!

After you have begun to master the game with one laser, can you up the ante and handle three? The Eye of Horus beamsplitter piece splits one laser beam into two when hit by reflecting half of the beam and transmitting the other half right through for twice the strategy and excitement!
